About the Hypnotherapist!
 |
David Collingwood Bell runs a busy hypnotherapy practice as the Senior Clinician of the Delwyn Hypnotherapy Group based in Wrexham, North East Wales and covering North Wales, North Shropshire, Chester and Wirral. He is also a Certified Instructor of Hypnotherapy and is the Training Director of the Delwyn School of Clinical and Advanced Hypnosis, which is the satellite school for Wales and the West Midlands of the UK Academy of Therapeutic Arts and Sciences. He is also a Principal Consultant with the Brookhouse Hypnotherapy Group, a national group of hypnotherapy practices.
He has now had over 30 years of experience in helping people make their changes for the better, overcome their problems and achieve their goals. He is not, however, the kind of person who just bases his practice on his experience. He believes passionately in continual professional development, striving to keep well up to date with new knowledge and to develop even more his skills as a therapist. So each new client benefits, not just from being treated by somebody with good professional and general life experience, but also from his constantly enquiring mind and fresh approach, which allows him to see you as the unique person you are. |
As well as his practice with Delwyn, David also practices at Wrexham Wellness, The Complementary Health Centre above Schwarz the Opticians in Charles Street, Wrexham, which is the headquarters of the Delwyn Hypnotherapy Group. These venues are within easy reach of Chester, Oswestry and Shrewsbury as well as Wrexham and the towns and villages of North East Wales.
He is a Registered Member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy, having satisfied its requirements regarding training and competence. The Council obliges all members to maintain comprehensive Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance and maintains a Common Code of Ethics and Practice and a Complaints and Disciplinary Procedure. He is also a Member in Good Standing of the National Guild of Hypnotists, USA, and is one of the Guild's Board Certified Hypnotherapists.
As a key qualification David gained the Diploma in Clinical and Advanced Hypnosis, awarded by the The UK Academy of Therapeutic Arts and Sciences. As evidence of his continuing professional development, he has also been awarded the Diploma in Ericksonian Hypnotherapy and is also a Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming.
He is qualified as a Board Certified Hypnotherapist and also a Certified Instructor of Hypnotherapy, having gained these certifications from The National Guild of Hypnotists of international renown. In his teaching role, David runs the School of Clinical and Advanced Hypnosis in Wales and the West Midlands. This is a satellite school of the internationally renowned UK Academy of Therapeutic Arts and Sciences, which has incorporated The Washington School of Clinical and Advanced Hypnosis. (Please click on 'Visit our Training Site' for details of the Professional Diploma offered).
He has also trained to use Hypnosis for Childbirth and is a Hypnobirthing Practitioner and Childbirth Educator certified by the HypnoBirthing Institute, offering programmes for expectant mothers and birthing companions leading to a more comfortable, relaxing, and easier childbirth. Severe discomfort does not need to accompany labour and birthing.
David also has a special interest in the treatment of tinnitus and has been appointed as the Specialist Adviser in the Treatment of Tinnitus for the National Council for Hypnotherapy.
Before graduating as a hypnotherapist and setting up in practice, David had trained as a counsellor, including the use of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and ran training courses in counselling for education professionals. He was at the forefront in the use of Accelerated Learning techniques in education and whilst the Deputy Principal of a college specialising in the in-service training of teachers, encouraged a greater awareness and use of 'right brain' approaches to learning and personal change.
Following his time as a teacher, adviser, officer and principal in the world of education, he created a successful business delivering management development programmes leading to the qualifications of The Institute of Management, now the Chartered Management Institute.
Throughout his career David has believed passionately in the role of the helper or therapist as being one of helping people to discover the enormous potential within themselves and learn how to use that in finding solutions to their difficulties. His client centred, problem solving approach, in which the emphasis is on finding solutions for the present and future, rather than analysing the past, was influenced by T.R.Batten's non directive approach to group work and community development, Carl Roger's client centred therapy, Eugene Heimler's social functioning approach and, in the world of hypnotherapy itself, by Milton Erickson's utilisation approach. His study of this approach and its practical application to both individual and community development led to his gaining a Diploma in Adult Education, adding to his Certificate in Education awarded by the University of London Institute of Education.
You can be assured of a warm welcome from David and a respectful attention to your needs, which will help you to feel comfortable, at ease and confident that your treatment is in excellent hands.
