Delwyn Hypnosis
Making Changes for the better
Hypnotherapy for Health and Healing in North Wales, Wirral, Chester, Shrewsbury & North Shropshire

A typical session

For certain conditions one single session is sufficient to meet the need but a series of appointments may well be required. At Delwyn Hypnosis we always use the first meeting both as an introductory consultation in which your problem is discussed and its history taken and as the start of the treatment. The hypnotherapist is likely to take notes and these remain strictly confidential. The way forward will be explained, the estimated number of visits given and a plan of action worked out together.

You will be introduced to hypnosis and will have the opportunity to ask as many questions as you wish. You will then experience a short hypnotic trance as the beginning of your therapy.

Certainly you will leave feeling most relaxed and refreshed.

You would need to allow one and a half hours for this visit.

The next session will start with a review of how you have been getting on since the last meeting, following which much of the time will be spent in  hypnosis. You will be led, by means of the therapist's gently guiding voice, into a state in which your body and mind are totally relaxed, as if almost asleep. To an onlooker it might seem that you are totally asleep but, in fact, although you will feel profoundly relaxed, you will not only be awake but also very aware indeed. It is most doubtful if this will happen, but if at any time you feel uncomfortable and wish to terminate the trance then you will be perfectly capable of doing so. Your conscious mind may not even hear all that the therapist says as it may be so relaxed and experiencing pleasant memories or special places, as if in a daydream. This is not a problem as the unconscious mind will be listening carefully as you work with the therapist to induce and set in motion the necessary and beneficial changes that are desired.

After this session of hypnosis there will be a discussion of the experiences you have had whilst in trance. This is often a most important part of the session.

The therapist will then work out with you any actions that need to take place before the next meeting and further appointments will be arranged.

Finally payment for the session is made before you leave feeling relaxed, refreshed and profoundly energised.

These appointments will very seldom last less than an hour and often take up to one and a half hours. Sometimes one needs to allow a couple of hours but this would be cleared with you beforehand. The fee remains the same, whatever the length of the session.

Between the initial consultation and the first session proper, and between each of the further sessions, the hypnotherapist will spend considerable time reflecting on your case and preparing the content for the next meeting. In this way each session is specifically tailored to your particular need. One cannot predict, therefore, with any certainty what approach and methods will b used at the next session, although these will be outlined and discussed with you at the very start of the session
